mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by nurturing the
congregation, ministering to the community and around the world, and by
providing a place for inspiring worship, study, and authentic Christian
Music and Dance
Music is an important form of worship at Flat Rock. The choir averages about ten people and is always eager and excited to welcome new members. Our choir director, Mrs. Emily Fields, also
directs a Liturgical Dance group (aged 12 and up) which has added so
much to our worship experience. Flat Rock also plays host as
needed for piano lessons for many of our young people.
God's Space for Children
We play together, sing, and study the Bible. We currently are working on a Christmas play that is written, produced, and sung by the children. Meeting time is Wednesday nights 6:30-7:30pm.
Our United Methodist Women (UMW)
The Purpose of the United Methodist Women:
organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose purpose is to know God and to experiences whole persons
through Jesus Christ; to develop creative, supportive fellowship; and
to expand concepts of mission through participation in global
ministriesof the church."
United Methodist Women at Flat Rock are a mission oriented
organization, working throughout the community, district,
state, country, and world. The UMW organizes bazaars,
breakfasts, yard sales, and many other programs to raise money for their
many mission projects. The Flat Rock UMW support the following mission activities:
World Prayer and self Denial, World Thank and Love Offerings Hands on Mission Opportunities through UMW UMCOR Henderson Settlement in Frakes, KY Red Bird Mission in KY The Children's Home in Winston-Salem Bethlehem Center in Charlotte Project Agapa Heifer International Countryside Manor and Village Youth and Children in our community Camp Carefree in Stokesdale

Our Men in Mission
The "Men In Missions" of Flat Rock meets on the
4th Saturday of each month at
for a hearty breakfast. we welcome all men and their sons, whether church
members or not, to come and engage in Christian devotion, fellowship, and hands on
service to God and neighbor.
Our activities this past year have included:
the church's 1st place float in The Stokesdale Christmas Parade. Putting
decking in the attic space above the church's workroom for storage. Participating
in the Northeast District's, "Impact Community Day" event at VidaNuevaHispanicChurch in Stoneville,
Our future plans for this year include:
kids from the NC. Children's Home in Winston Salem how to fish. Working
on a Habitat for Humanity home project. Roasting
pork shoulders and Boston
butts as a fund raiser. Constructing
the second consecutive 1st place entry in The Stokesdale Christmas Parade
is to serve God and neighbor so that the Kingdom
of God may grow as others experience
and embrace the love and
saving grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
